Crespiano is 393 meters above sea level and is located on the main road leading to Comano. It is the second largest and populated of the municipality of Comano, along the road you come to a first group of houses with a recent restaurant, while the old village is above.

Along the bank of the Taverone river, stands the ancient plebeian Church, dedicated to St. Mary of the Assumption. At the base of the tower you can find an inscription dated 1079 attesting to a first restoration of the building, but its Romanesque features are still visible despite the various changes during the baroque period and nineteenth-century.

The architectural complex consisting of the church with the sacristy, the Romanesque bell tower and the fifteenth century parsonage, flanked by a small rural settlement are visited by many pilgrims.
